I participated in GAS 2026 in Corning, New York. This year's conference coincided with the 75th anniversary of the Corning Museum of Glass and brought together approximately 1,600 members of the international glass community from around the world. I was honored to present “Transience and Technique: Innovations in Kiln Casting” as the first lecture of the conference. The presentation focused on my artistic research, technical developments in kiln casting, and perspectives on glass education in Japan. Beyond the lecture itself, the conference provided a valuable opportunity to reconnect with mentors, longtime friends, colleagues, and former students, while meeting many new members of the glass community. The conversations, questions, and exchanges throughout the week reminded me how strong and generous the international glass community can be. My sincere thanks to everyone who attended the lecture, visited the exhibition, and shared their time and ideas. I look forward to seeing many of you again in the future.
